Family run nurseries

School House Nurseries is a family-run business. Our three children attended the Lewes nursery and they’re now successfully making their way at big school. Now it’s our job to give the children at our nurseries the start in life that we gave our own children.

We have been running nurseries all our adult lives, and Lewes for 15 years. Over that time Lewes has been an Outstanding setting and has won many awards for its excellence.

This means we can promise you the professionalism and rigour of the biggest chain with the care and personal touch you’d expect from a nursery where the owners work in it every day.

We don’t do it all on our own, of course. We have a lovely team of people working at the nurseries, all of whom are passionate about children and the child-centric approach at School House Nurseries. Hopefully you’ll see the difference this makes when you come for a visit.

We’re Outstanding!

We are absolutely delighted to tell you that we were awarded Outstanding in every area in our recent Ofsted. It was a real team effort, the culmination of consistent hard work over years, and we are very proud of what we’ve achieved. We’d also like to thank the children, who the Inspector praised for their happiness and their capacity to engage with adults – well done children!

Read more about what the Inspector had to say in our ‘About’ page.

Thanks for visiting our website. It’s packed with information about the all-year round care and education we provide. In particular, we’d like to point out the ‘Approach‘ and ‘Mini Monties‘ pages. Both will help you understand more about Montessori teaching and how it enables us to give children at the nursery the very best start in life.

Do give us a call at the nursery if you’d like to know more.

Build on your child’s natural curiosity

To this little girl, using the blocks to create the tower is natural and fun. To our trained Montessori teachers, she is enjoying herself, learning visual discrimination and taking her first steps in early maths.

Your child has an extraordinary capacity to learn and develop new skills. To see how we can help them reach their full potential, come along for a visit. We’d be delighted to show you around.
