Deputy Manager, Uckfield

Deadline: Monday 14th October
Salary: £22,000 to £25,000

Hello.

I’m Rachel, the Manager at School House Nursery Uckfield – a lovely, calm setting just north of the town centre, off London Road.

We’re looking for a Deputy Manager to join the team and help me run this 30-place, all-year-round setting.

The successful candidate will join me in the classroom, leading a room and stepping in for me when I’m on holiday or in the office.

You’ll be joining a successful nursery which I’ve managed since it opened a couple of years ago. We’ve come a long way in that time, but what’s always been true is that we try to provide the children with great new experiences every day. The atmosphere in the classroom is calm but engaging: fun, child-focused and friendly.

The atmosphere in the team is good. I run a nursery where everyone respects their colleagues and appreciates the hard work they put in.

If you join us you’ll be paid up to £25,000 (the pay will vary a little, based on your experience), you’ll get 28 days holiday a year, plus 2 well being days, and there’s a pension scheme you can join.

The skills and personal attributes I’m looking for include:

  • An NVQ in childcare Level 3. (We’re a Montessori-inspired setting, but these days the EYFS incorporates lots of the Montessori principles)
  • The confidence to talk to parents with authority.
  • A good work ethic so that you’re able to make a positive contribution to an established and successful setting.

To apply for this role, fill in the form below, or email me a covering note and your CV. Or if you’d rather, come along for a visit and see how we run. Good luck, and I hope to see you soon.

School House Nursery Uckfield follows a safer recruitment and selection process. Following a face-to-face interview and work trial you will be expected to pass the referencing stage and pass a full / enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check prior to employment. Rachel – the nursery Manager in Uckfield

Office Manager, Lewes

Deadline: Monday 21st October

Salary: £11.00 to £12.00 an hour

Our busy children’s nursery in Lewes needs an Office Manager to join the team.

We care for children under the age of 5 and our setting is rated Outstanding by Ofsted. The Office Manager supports the classroom team by overseeing the administrative side of the business, ensuring that both nurseries (in Lewes and Uckfield) run smoothly and professionally.

To do the job well you’ll need to be good at the basics and capable of completing more complex tasks accurately and quickly.

Much of the time you’ll be your own boss, so you’ll need to be self-motivated and proactive.

You’ll also need to be able to work in a team. You’ll talk to the Nursery Manager every day and the Owners of the business every week.

The salary for this position is between £11.00 and £12.00 ph, depending on experience. There is some flexibility over the hours, but ideally we’d like you to work 3 full days a week. You’ll certainly be needed all year round, as we only close one week a year (at Christmas). You’ll be entitled to 28 days holiday per year (pro rata).

To apply, please message us to tell us why you’d like this position. Don’t forget to attach your CV. You could also visit our website (schoolhousenurseries.com) to find out more about us and apply from there. Good luck with your application.
