Nursery Manager, Lewes

Application deadline: Monday 29th June

Our lovely children’s nursery in Lewes needs a new Manager to lead the classroom team.

You could be currently working as a room leader, a Deputy, or a Manager. You’ll want to work in an Outstanding, independent, family-run nursery that’s inspired by Montessori.

You’ll be mainly based in the classroom and supported by a super team of childcare professionals. We also employ an excellent Office Manager who takes care of the paperwork, leaving you free to concentrate on the classroom.

The nursery itself is based in a beautiful flint Victorian school house with a free-flow outdoor classroom, a big playground and a nature field across the road that we use every week.

The children grow vegetables in the garden, go to Forest School every week, take yoga classes, act in our Nativity Play and compete at sports day in the summer.

The skills and personal attributes we’re looking for include: an NVQ Level 3 or higher; at least 3 years’ experience working as senior or room leader; and the drive and confidence you need for a leadership position.

The annual salary for this role is excellent. You’ll work a 40-hour week, all year round, receive 28 days holiday a year plus 2 well being days, and you’ll be able to join the company pension scheme.

We have a car park on site, we are 10 minutes’ walk from the train station and a bus to Brighton stops one-minutes’ walk away.

To apply, send us a covering note and CV, or visit our website (schoolhousenurseries.com) and apply from there. You’re also welcome to come look the round the nursery and meet the team.

Good luck with your application.

The Old School House follows a safer recruitment and selection process. Following a face-to-face interview and work trial you will be expected to pass the referencing stage and pass a full / enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check prior to employment. We are an equal opportunities employer.
